Grrreen Pet Houses
Jennifer at Offbeat Homes did an article this weekend about green pet homes. I love these! It makes me wish our dogs weren’t inside dogs who only go outside to do their business and harass the birds on the lawn.
The houses come from Sustainable Pet Design and are called Greenrrroofs. Jennifer points out the benefits:

* Repels fleas naturally
* Filters water
* Attracts butterflies
* All homes custom built by hand
* Non-toxic materials for building (like beeswax waterproofing and zero-VOC paints)
* Roof vegetation is customized to your specific regionPlus it smells nice — bonus when your pet is not smelling as nice.
Now, unfortunately these aren’t cheap by any means. Extra small houses will run you around $1000 each, and it just goes up from there.
