~ A southern California man is charged with smuggling (with the help of his prosthetic leg!) three endangered iguanas from a nature preserve in Fiji.
~ Michael Vick charged with torturing, killing dogs in Virginia indictment. Too bad the punishment won’t fit the crime.
~ More than three months after disappearing during a tornado, Smoky the cat has been reunited with his owner.
~ Bravo! Brand Pet Food issues nationwide recall of select poultry products. I’ve never heard of this brand - maybe that’s a good thing?
~ Red slider turtle (turtles?) born with two heads, six legs, one butt.
~ “Somebody stoled him. I’m sad.” Pet rabbit Sugar Bunny was stolen from a preschool with fliers left in its empty cage protesting the circus. Everybody’s first thought, PETA, denies involvement.
~ Parents of the Year candidates leave their 4-year-old son in a burning mobile home but didn’t forget the family dog, and then waited 20 minutes to tell firefighters they forgot about him. I love my pets just as much as the next pet owner, but good grief.
~ “A fire hydrant painted as an American flag has been removed from a dog park after complaints it was disrespectful to let dogs use it for what dogs do.” Hee.
