Poop Patrol Part 2

by Heather on September 12th, 2007

composterWe’ve been having a little conversation over in the Doggy Dooley post about what works and what doesn’t for pet poop disposal.

Shari didn’t have a great experience with the Doggy Dooley system and ended up creating her own using a five-gallon bucket, which I think is fantastic. She also linked to a web page that gives step by step instructions and photos for creating your own doggy disposal system using an old garbage can. How cool is that?

And speaking of poop, check out Jennifer’s current post at Offbeat Homes about the Poop House. Definitely not for me (I’ll deal with poop as I have to between kids and pets, but keeping it around like that isn’t up my alley!) but it’s an interesting idea anyway!

Whoa, that bucket must sure hold a lot of doody! Unfortunately, I only have planters in my back yard (the rest is concrete), so I don’t have room for a big one. I think I’ll still go with the store bought product (I’m a consumer whore!), and if it can’t hold all the doody, then I’ll deal with it when it comes up. :p

This has certainly been an interesting thread(s)! And how could you handle the smell if you house was made of poop?

I saw your title in the H&D list and figured you just have to copy me ;)

Just kidding but now I’m double sure the poop issue is icky — A FIVE gallon bucket. Oh no. And as always kisses for the link :)
