Quirky Pets
Most pets I know of have weird little quirks. Our quirkiest pet is Sage. Ever since she was able to jump high enough (and usually with the help of a piece of furniture, like a high dresser or tv stand), she would jump to the top of a door and lay down on it with both front legs dangling on either side:
Anyway, she doesn’t have easy access to the tops of doors anymore (that picture is from 1999) so she’ll do her straddling on anything else she deems suitable - couch arms, the back of a desk chair, etc. Recently she’s taken up crawling behind my husband’s computer monitor to lay on top of a speaker he’s positioned back there. It’s not turned on when she does this so there’s no heat attraction to speak of but you can see the top of her little leg in the front there hanging over the side of the speaker.
She also “speaks.” She loooves fresh water. Whenever anyone is in the kitchen getting water from the fridge dispenser she runs in and sits and watches to see if they’re going to pour it into her dish. When my husband does it, though, she’ll say “wow-wow” to his question of “Water? Water?” The kids and I can’t get her to do this and it’s over too fast for me to record it, though I’ve tried and will keep trying!

Where do I begin? How Sassy, my black cat, gets up on my lap to knock my computer headphones off my head? Or how about the fact that she hugs? Or that she must sleep cuddled to me, and she’ll even squirm her way in between husband and I if we’re cuddling in order to claim her “spot?” Very quirky little thing.

Sassy sounds like a love. I wish some of Sage’s quirks were cuddly but she only cares about us when she needs her fresh water :D
