The Dog Days of Early Fall
The weather is finally starting to cool down a bit though where I live we’re still cranking up the air conditioning come 2pm or so.
It’s not so bad - I look forward to having the windows open during the night and early morning, and within a few weeks we’ll be able to have them open all day. One of my favorite things to do is to curl up on the couch in the evenings with the dogs, the husband, and the tv after the kids are in bed and sip hot chocolate as a cool breeze kicks through the open windows. Sometimes the cats join us but that’s only if the dogs are already in their kennels for the night, otherwise they’re draped elsewhere around the room.
As illustrated by Honey, above, until the AC is turned on in the early afternoon the dogs know how to keep themselves cool!

Wow, it’s that warm there. In NM by this time of year it’s pretty chilly. Well, wait the nights are… it’s still a tad warm in the daytime but not enough for AC.
